Application for Apprenticeship

Applications for an apprenticeship are taken every Wednesday from 8am-4pm at the hall.

Minimum qualifications are as follows:

You must be at least 18 years old to apply for an apprenticeship.

You must have a High School diploma or GED.

You must complete an assessment(ACCUPLACER TEST at Metro Community College) and meet minimum standards in reading, writing, and arithmetic.

You must be physically able to perform the work of the trade and complete a pre-employment drug screen.

You must be available to attend classes as scheduled by the Apprentice Committee.

Apprenticeship Interview:

All applicants will be required to furnish the following documents:

  • A copy of your High School Diploma/GED
  • A copy of your drivers license/state ID AND your Social Security Card
  • A copy of your high school transcripts
  • 3 or more letters of recommendation
  • ACCUPLACER TEST results scoring a minimum of 9 points out of 17 total possible

If you meet the minimum qualifications and provide all necessary documents, you will be scheduled for a panel-style interview by the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee.

The interview will consider the following:

  • Education and background
  • Previous work experience
  • Attitude, interest, and knowledge of the trade
  • Personal trait
